Hi, I'm Oksana!

(This website is still under construction.)

I was born in a small town in Udmurtia, and wanted to be a journalist since I was 8. I was so concerned that I might not have topics to write about as a journalist that I entered Asian Studies Department in the oldest university in the country and majored in Indonesian language and history, which led me to becoming a reporter on foreign religious politics for one of the Moscow newspapers. I am a Fulbrighter, and served as an Attaché for Political Affairs in the Russian Embassy in Jakarta, and then spent a year in Sichuan, China, and organized a faith-based group there. I translated a book of Indonesian poetry while earning my Masters' in Journalism Boston (in addition to the one I already had in international relations from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations) and can speak four languages. I read two more. Feel free to contact me by email if you have any leads or wish to get in touch.
